Over the course of three hours, we’ll encounter all of Rome’s household names: the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. But that’s not all. We’ll also discover quiet corners and churches, squares, courtyards, and much more! And what better way to live ‘la dolce vita’ (the sweet life) when in Rome? By indulging in Italy’s best-loved foodstuff: gelato!

Explore Rome’s most famous attractions

Starting from your hotel, we’ll make our way into the Campo Marzio (Field of Mars). Far from the far-flung field you might expect, this is actually the name of Rome’s historic centre, named after the god of war because it’s here, outside the ancient city walls, where the Roman legions used to train.

I’ll then walk you through Rome’s main attractions, giving you my unique perspective refined during my PhD in archaeology. As well as exploring such sights as the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, I’ll share priceless tips, helpful advice and cultural insights, bringing an insider’s expertise to your visit to Rome!

From here it’s not far to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, two stunning structures with a fascinating ancient past. In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you’ll see this fascinating city come to life through stories, anecdotes and urban legends and learn about popes, emperors, and artists who left their mark on the Eternal City.
